About the event
Join Seasearch Cornwall for two days of diving to explore seagrass beds and highlights of the Plymouth Sound Special Area of Conservation.
About this event
This is a two day diving expedition, for qualified Seasearch divers. The diving is subsidised by 50% by the EU Life funded ReMEDIES project and in return you will be expected to provide a Seasearch form from each dive, (one form per buddy pair).
Each day we will do two dives from a hard boat(setting of from Mount batten watersports centre) each day will be carrying out tow dives within seagrass habitats within Plymouth Sound SAC (half of which is Cornwall btw!!). We will be looking at areas where seagrass may be found to see if it is present or absent, and also assessing the health of seagrass and looking for evidence of human impacts. The seagrass dives may well be shallow (so please make sure you have sufficient weight). The boat is equipped with a hydraulic lift to help you get out of the water.
The boat takes 12 divers in total. This weekend is a great opportunity for divers to practice their seasearch skills and to help us explore little dived sites.
You will need to bring all your own equipment, provide evidence of valid insurance, qualifications and recent dive experience and to either provide a medical certificate or fill in a self certification certificate.
Please buy a ticket for each day separately. Price £37.50 per day per diver plus fees. Price includes free onsite car parking and use of changing rooms and onsite bar (where you will get a 10% discount) For more information see http://www.indeep.co.uk/
